We miss our friends, the Caberfae skiers and snowboarders, and hope you are all staying safe and healthy.

Photo was taken at noon today of the snow that remains on the Peaks. For some “Stay at Home” fun, we’ll give 4 free lift tickets to the first person that guesses the date and the hour the last snow melts at the Peaks.

Thinking of our Caberfae family

Hope you are safe also.

I looked at the web cam yesterday and said, yeah, it is still skiable. 🙁🙁

Very cool photo of Caberfae! I really wish we could have gotten a ton more ski and board time in. Between the passing of my husband from cancer, and now the virus stuff going on, it was not our year 😔

You are our happy place. June 3 @ 4:10pm

Snowmobile crossing at the bottom of picture. Traveled that road many times. Once in the worse snow storm I ever drove in.

Beautiful resort and May the fourth be snowless

I've seen melting snow piles as late as the end of June at Caberfae, so good luck, people! 🤣

Time to hunt the hills for morels!

Sunday, March 15th, will be our final day of the 2019/2020 ski season. The forecast is calling for blue skies and a high of 39 tomorrow. Lifts will be open from 9 am to 4 pm. The Caberfae Gold Cup Race is on. We hope you can join us for one final day on the slopes.

What's behind this decision?
With Executive Order 2020-5 coming out yesterday from Governor Whitmer, along with increasing concerns of the Corona Virus, and the uncertainty of future border crossings with the upcoming Canada Week, we feel it is in the best interest of our guests, employees and community to close the ski area for the season at the end of the day on Sunday, March 15th.

This decision was not an easy one. It especially saddens us to close with this much snow on the hills and reservations on the books. However, we feel it is the proper and most responsible course of action at this time. Be safe, stay healthy, and we'll be back better than ever for winter 2020/2021!

We sadly could not cross border. They were turning people away unless essential travel. We bought a pass for the week for 4 people. Will you guys refund it...OR...when you are open next year can we use them then.

Thanks so much for staying open today even tho the carnival was cancelled. I traveled 4 hours from ohio and had an awesome time today!

I am bummed... with the kids off of school, I was seriously thinking of bringing them up this coming week. I would have thought, with most activities outside and people spread out from each other (i.e. ‘on the slopes’), it would be great activity 🤷🏻‍♀️😔

Had a great time yesterday! Thanks for staying open...... It was a beautiful day 😏

It was fun today, and will be fun tomorrow. Totally understand the predicament you have been dealt. Let's hope the US rebounds quickly! See you fall 2020!

What a great ski season! We’ll see you in December!

We had a fun time today. Thanks for a great season Cabby staff.

People just need to respect these businesses decisions. This IS their livelihood, they wouldn’t do it unless they were reasonably compelled to do so. It’s rough but stay home, work out at home, bunker down for a couple of weeks. We will make it! They’re just trying to protect us.

Thank You for staying open yesterday - & Thank God the power didn’t stay out for long!!!! 😅- 😇🙏😇 - We had one of the Best Times!!!! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ - See you in 2021!!!! There was Such Happiness & Joy & Love in the Air with everyone - It was really Beautiful.

Last fire this morning!! Come one ,come y'all!! Let's make the best of it,and have a stellar ,fun day!!! Thanks everyone for the season!! Will see you next year!! Thank you Meyer family, for working so hard and providing such a great place to work!!!

Thanks to Tim Meyer and Pete Meyer for the great season. The staff at Caberfae from top to bottom is absolutely the best

Awful. - season pass holder. Was planning on going a few times next week.

It was a great season! Looking forward to next already ❤️

Thank you for everything you do to make skiing a fun experience there! See you next season!

We had a lot of great times up there this year you guys did a phenomenal job I respect your decision thank you for being a good Community citizen we will be back in 2020 2021 for sure

We were coming next weekend but I guess we'll have to wait until next year. Had a great season!

Cant wait till spring summer golf season and prayin the the madness is overto play the cadillac area courses and then the 20/21 ski season !

Any chance weekday passes will be honored on Sunday?

Great riding with the whole crew this year. Lifties rocked it all year. Thanks Pete, Tim and crew for another great season! See y’all next year.

Thanks Caberfae & all the staff for being there to make our seasons very enjoyable, my family and myself have had so many great times there. See you all next year.

Was so looking forward to this week, you received so much snow over the winter, it was going to be a great time!

Had a great ski season there! Thank you!

Thanks for a nice season. It was wonderful to ski and race at your resort. Till next season!

We had a fun season! We will be back next year..thanks Caberfae!

After careful consideration, we have elected to cancel the Spring Carnival events tomorrow due to the heightening awareness of COVID-19. We feel this decision is consistent with keeping the safety of our guests, employees and community as a top priority. This decision was not made lightly. By eliminating the events, we feel it will minimize the likelihood of groups in close proximity and encourage safe, social distancing throughout the resort.

All other normal resort operations will continue as previously scheduled. We plan on lifts operating daily through March 22nd.

What day is your official closing day? Will you be open the last weekend in March (28th and 29th) since it’s spring break?

I plan on Skiing Sunday!!! W/My Family, Please be Open!!!

100% the right decision to make.

At least it's close to the end of season... Fresh air & sunshine actually fight sickness & viruses!! I'll be snowshoeing, Hiking & ATV'g after Sunday 🌞🌞🌞

Tough call but great for skiers. Nubs Nob closed for the season effective today.

Glad you are staying open. Fresh air, sunshine, and exercise are the best way to stay healthy.

The heck with that. I'm wearing my kilt anyway.

Very sad decision! You are outside in cold temps! I give up!

But regular skiing is still open to the public...? Why cancel it then?

Is your last day march 15th or March 22nd. I'm getting confused because the posting very clearly States March 22nd is the last day.

Any word on the Super G race scheduled for Sunday?

You guys are awesome thank you for making the right decision we are a caberfae Peaks family

Closing at the end of the day on Sunday! Last chance for tracks!

A picture from the 3rd week of May 2014,so my guess is June 10 @ 3pm

June 1 at noon. Last snow being any snow anywhere

Caberfae Peaks

Should do a guests day then Last day free lift tickets 🤗

Caberfae Peaks

The Slopes are Safe! Stay outdoors. We’re skiing tomorrow ⛷

Wasn’t planning on going anyway but that’s a dumb decision.

October 23, 2019 – What’s New Wednesday at the Peaks: A new groomer! We took delivery of a Prinoth BR350 yesterday, which will compliment the snowcat that we purchased last year. The tractor is more powerful, more efficient and processes the snow much better than previous models. We’ll be able to send two BR 350s out every night to bring you plenty of that corduroy that everyone loves. Plus, we gotta be able to move all that snow around that we plan to make with all those extra snow guns…

September 25, 2019 – What’s New Wednesday: New Bull Wheel Bearings on the top and bottom terminals of the South Peak Triple Chair. It doesn’t have a huge marketing splash, but it’s very important behind the scenes maintenance and a huge project to lower the bull wheels.

It is recommended that bullwheel bearings should be replaced every 20-25 years. If a bearing was to go bad in the middle of winter, the lift could be down for 2-3 weeks. Cheers to the lift maintenance crew for their preventative maintenance program and always keeping those lifts spinning!

September 18, 2019 – What’s New Wednesday: More snowmaking improvements at the Peaks! The crew installed another water line and electric to feed 3 more snow machines on the #1 ski trail this week. The additional utilities will allow us to run even more snow guns at the same time. We love the cold!

September 11, 2019 – What’s New Wednesday at the Peaks: 3 additional first floor guest rooms at the slope-side Mackenzie Lodge. The rooms are currently under construction but will be ready for the upcoming ski season. All three rooms will have king beds with pull out sofa sleepers in them so you can enjoy ski-in/ski-out lodging without any stairs!

September 4, 2019 – Our “What’s New Wednesday” series is back! We are busy getting ready for the upcoming ski season and we will highlight some of the off season improvements over the next few months on Wednesdays.

The crew is currently installing a new 12” snowmaking pipeline coming out of the pumphouse. The new 12” pipe replaces 1000 feet of old 8” pipe. The larger pipe will result in more water flow, better pressure, and less friction loss, which translates into more snow, made faster & more efficiently.

Gotta keep feeding those snow guns!

Caberfae Peaks (Archive) – WHAT’S NEW for 2018 – 2019

The crew at Caberfae Peaks were busy this summer working on many improvements to the ski slopes and resort amenities, including: improved skier drop off area, the addition of 4 new SMI Super PoleCat snowmaking guns, an expanded parking lot, a brand new Green Mountain Flying Carpet Lift, and more… Here’s are with some of the new things that you’ll see on your visit to Caberfae Peaks this season.

Improved skier drop off area with new pavement, pavement markings and concrete sidewalks. The area also includes the creation of a courtyard/green space for our outdoor ceremony sites, relocation of the putting green, and areas to gather.

Snowmaking improvements continue this off season with the addition of 4 new SMI Super PoleCat snowmaking guns, along with the addition of 9 new SMI PoleCat snowmaking towers. Bring on the cold temps!

More seasonal lockers for rent in our Ski & Snowboard Rental Facility. Are you tired of schlepping your gear to and from the resort? Get a locker for the season, starting at $149.

New Bull Wheel Bearings. The crew spent part of the summer replacing the bearings on the top bull wheels. The key to keeping the lifts spinning during winter operations is great off-season maintenance.

Improved snowmaking infrastructure on South Peak. The crew has installed over 1000′ feet of larger diameter snowmaking pipe to allow for better flow, less friction loss, and a higher PSI. What does that all mean? More snow, faster.

Brand new cross country ski rental equipment from Rossignol. For those Nordic skiing enthusiasts, you can now rent XC equipment at the Peaks and access 15 km of groomed trails right from our resort.

4 New SMI Super Pole Cat snowmaking towers and 9 new SMI Polecat snowmaking towers.

Expanded parking lot, including 200 additional parking spaces, significantly improved drainage, and a complete resurfacing with recycled asphalt millings. Enjoy plenty of parking and a greatly improved parking surface this winter!

Renovated learn-to-ski beginner area, including the installation of the brand new Green Mountain Flying Carpet Lift! Renovations also include a gradual, more gentle grade to the slope, additional snowmaking pipe, electrical installations, and 3 new fixed snowmaking towers.
